GOV. Carlos Jericho L. Petilla informed that San Miguel Corp. (SMC) through its President and CEO Ramon Ang has expressed intention to put up an economic zone in Leyte with a5,000MW power plant as a pilot project. SMC’s ecozone will cater to Chinese locators, among which are aluminum manufacturers. SMC and the provincial government have yet to meet on the proposal and the actual location where the proposed ecozone will be put up.
